I sit at the window,
Watching the passers-by
In a subconscious fashion,
Expecting someone to stop and say Hello.
Just a nod of notice
Or a glance
From someone, anyone.
It's just a hit or miss.
Tons walk by
One after another
Minute by minute,
A girl, then guy.
Someone takes my gaze away
From in front of me
Past the people there to
Across the street and there they stay.
Eyes meet and time slows
A hand raisesand moves to and fro
I smile, they smile, we smile.
A relationship grows.
I return the favor,
I raise my hand.
It sways back and forth.
A friendship I will savor.
Our hands stop,
Simles still intact.
Our eyes locked,
But hands drop.
They start to move,
Eyes still joined,
And soon the throng
Begins to move.
Time starts again,
Our chance meeting ceased,
But friendships last.
A moment for gain.
Now, a time to save,
A day fulfilled
Sitting at the window
Waiting for the Wave.
Skin Battles.
